This Cookie Policy explains how Veyn ("we", "our", or "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website (veynapp.com). The Veyn mobile app itself does not use browser cookies — this policy applies to the website only.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as your preferred language or theme — so you don't have to re-enter it each time.

In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags, which function in comparable ways. This policy covers all such technologies collectively.

Cookies We Use

We keep our use of cookies minimal. The table below describes each type we use on veynapp.com.

Essential for the website to function. These include session management for the password-reset flow and security tokens. They cannot be switched off.

Stores your chosen colour theme (light or dark mode) via localStorage under the key veyn-theme. No personal data is stored — only the string "light" or "dark".

Not currently used
We do not currently run analytics cookies or third-party tracking scripts on veynapp.com. If this changes, we will update this policy and request consent before setting any such cookies.
Marketing

We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies of any kind on veynapp.com.

Third-Party Cookies

We do not load third-party advertising networks, social media trackers, or analytics platforms that set their own cookies on veynapp.com.

We use Google Fonts to load typography. Google Fonts serves font files from its CDN but does not set cookies and does not track users across sites when fonts are loaded via standard stylesheet links. For more information, see Google Fonts privacy FAQ.

The Veyn Mobile App

The Veyn iOS app does not use browser cookies. It uses device-local storage and secure system APIs for authentication and preferences. Data handling within the app is governed by our Privacy Policy.

When the app opens links in an in-app browser (for example, to display this policy or the password-reset page), the browser may store session data locally on your device. This data does not leave your device except as part of a normal HTTPS request to our servers.

Your Controls

Theme preference. The light/dark mode preference is stored in your browser's localStorage. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for veynapp.com, or by resetting it via your browser's developer tools.

Browser settings. All major browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functioning of certain pages (such as the password-reset flow).

On iOS, you can clear website data for Safari under Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data.

Cookie Retention

The preference cookie (veyn-theme) is stored in localStorage with no expiry — it persists until you clear your browser data or explicitly remove it. It contains no personal data and is not transmitted to our servers.

Any session cookies set during the password-reset flow expire at the end of your browser session.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we introduce analytics or other new features on the website. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes that introduce new non-essential cookies, we will request your consent before setting them.
